Hurray! File Transfer Manager is almost dead! While the Microsoft Download Manager itself isn’t new, its use on MSDN/Technet for download management is. Now if we could just convince the Microsoft Connect folks to make the switch…
- New, cleaner UI with notification and open-when-complete support.
- Increase in maximum number of simultaneous connections (from 4 to 16).
- Ability to add new downloads without browser acrobatics.
- No more triple beep upon completion.
If you accidently start File Transfer Manager, overwriting file type associations, you can use the –regserver command line argument to get things back in order (with –unregserver doing the opposite).
